- About Me:
- I grew up in the Health-food Industry. My Mum and Dad started with a Health Food Shop in Penarth, South Wales called Beanfreaks. I loved playing shop and got paid in sugar free lolly pops, banana split bath salts, and trail mix. I soon learnt that the more you knew about the pretty shiny bottles, the less you had to bag up muesli, this inspired me to learn more. After finishing school (I will admit my A level year was more about snogging and parties than actually studying so when my results came lets just say my previous plans went back to the drawing board, however the universe is perfect…) I joined the family business full-time. That was 18 years ago! I have come to realise one door closes and another opens, so at the tender age of 21 I was able to train under Patrick Holford “The UK’s top Vitamin Guru” and I became a Dip ION Nutritionist. Sometimes even though you have attended lots of courses and generally have been very successful, that little part of you (The 19 year old who screwed up her A levels) needs a little academia to show her she really does have a brain, so in 2005 I was granted my MA in Complementary Health Studies from Exeter University, I got to wear a cap and gown and everything. Exeter was fabulous, I loved every minute of the course and attended lectures on subjects from Herbalism, to Chaos Theory and everything in-between. I will be eternally grateful to my tutors and fellow students for stretching my mind. At this point I have to thank Liz and Ian Newton from Stenhouse, who introduced me to NLP. NLP is Neuro Linguistic Programming which sounds very scary but it was NLP that helped fill up my toolbox and gave me the confidence to GO FOR IT… Oh I also loved their course and became a Master NLP Practitioner. After 18 years of working within the family business, I decided with the support of my hubby Darren to open our own little Health Shop and let the cycle continue, sharing my knowledge and helping you along on your life journey. Welcome to The Health Diva What is in a name? Well Diva by name Diva by nature! Your Diva is the naughty pixie who wants to dance on tables and zing with energy, its finding your inner confidence to become who you want to be. - yes we sell lots ot it. We only started selling the Swiss Herbal range in January but it does well. we are giving the Kingston store a face lift in August and Swiss Herbals will be getting a new prominent super position in the store!
